in like a lion...

for us south-western ontarians, march came in like a lion... like an i'm-ready-to-pounce-and-kill-and-eat-a-baby-zebra-kinda-lion... yes, it was that bad.

so bad, in fact, that yesterday was the worst weather i've ever driven in. first, there was a blizzard that sent 6cm of snow in 2 hours. then the freezing rain came. that's when i was out driving; cars doing 180 turns, tires spinning, transport trucks unable to clear even the smallest hills... nuts. then, the winds came. at about 2am, enormous gusts of wind came. i awoke to crashing sounds... at first i though that boulders were being dropped on our house. i looked outside and our neighbour's yard was completely covered with ice-caked sticks and branches. the weight of the ice on the branches sent them breaking onto our roof. then, the floods came. this morning we awoke to a computer desk and stairway puddled with water... what a mess...

the only thing we can look forward to now: march going out like a lamb.
