nous visitons a montreal

Daryan and I have been in Montreal for the past week and this is the first time we've visited the city in the summer... you definitely get a lot more enjoyment out of walking around the city this time of year... I remember the winter visit being absolutely BRUTALLY cold. We arrived on Tuesday morning and promptly headed for the Plateau neighbourhood where we did some eating, some walking, and some shopping. The next few days consisted of sporadic shopping on Rue St. Catherine and some yummy meals at French rotisserie restaurants. Friday we went to the BioDome (a Science/environmental/educational centre that houses 4 distinct ecosystems). The tropical rainforest ecosystem reminded me of that room at the Vancouver Aquariam.

The main focus of our trip was to be to watch the Roger's Cup women's tennis match - the semi-finals and the finals. Unfortunately though, Saturday night and ALL Sunday, the matches were rained out. We saw a singles game of Martina Hingis kicking butt, and a doubles game of Martina Navrilatova and her partner kicking butt... so that was worth it.
