i haven't posted a movie reccommendation in a bit. my mom (who's visiting me in vancouver this week) and i rented GRIZZLY MAN last night. it's the documentary about an ecentric man named treadwell who goes to live with the grizzly bears of alaska. yes, this DOES sound like a mock-umentary... and it watches like one too! but it's all true. in fact, he video taped all 13 summers of living with grizzly bears and in the videos he's touching the grizzly bears and coming within a mere couple feet of the bears. he scolds them if they swat at him and he coddles them and tells them he loves them at other times. he believes that he can actually show them that he is the alpha. but, they seem to tolerate him - to an extent...

pick it up for yourselves! it's quite interesting and surprising how much he really does get involved with the grizzly bear colony and other animals of alaska.
