we're here in Maui! we woke up bright and early at 5:30am to the sounds of the exotic birds here on our resort. it's quite a nice view of the ocean and lava rocks from our room, so we spent a few moments waking up out on our veranda. while daryan was at a short meeting this morning, i got a chance to walk on the beach, write some postcards, feed some fish, and snap some photos. we will go snorkeling this afternoon at 'black rock' - the lava rock formations on our resort that cascade into the ocean. apparently this site has some of the most amazing snorkeling in all of hawaii!
we got to feed the koi fish in the pond surrounding our hotel this morning. it seemed to be a popular pastime with the little kids... and there i was among them, just as excited! i got to pet the fish too!
