today daryan and i did the utmost in vacation pleasure - we did practically nothing! we relaxed and read in front of the pool, and we ordered this crazy drink (seen above), which is a cored pineapple with a pina coloda inside! it was fabulous. we also enjoyed a pineapple fruit salad that used the pineapple as the bowl - today was the day of the pineapple.
we also did some snorkeling. i was pretty proud of myself that i was able to go so deep into the ocean for this adventure (i'm pretty afraid of sharks). but we saw some needlefish, clown fish, and other iridescent fishes. oh, and we saw the zebra kind, too. we're going to go snorkeling again sometime to see if we can spot the sea turtles that hang around these parts.
in the evening was the luau; we got to taste traditional hawaiian foods (including the pig, which i avoided). then, we watched a hula show with male and female hula dancers. it was all pretty interesting - and i'll let you all ask daryan his story about what he got to do at the finale of the hula show ;)
the iris people that went on the cruise today had 60 dolphins (or more!) visit them and do tricks for them! how envious we were. we still have one more boat ride left in which we might see dolphins - keep your fingers crossed for us!
